Imprint Control Region (ICR) Dysregulation Associated with Alzheimer's Disease (AD)

a) Differentially methylated regions (DMRs) that differed in DNA methylation by more than 10% between AD cases and controls were three times greater in non-Hispanic Blacks (NHBs) than in non-Hispanic Whites (NHWs). b) Venn diagram of ICRs from ALL (40), NHB (81) and NHW (27) identified only two ICRs that were epigenetically altered in both NHBs and NNWs. They are the known imprinted gene, MEST/MESTIT1 (Riesewijk et al. 1997, Li et al. 2002), and the candidate imprinted inflammasome gene, NLRP1 (Yap et al. 2019).
